Weezer - Pinkerton album
Weezer's debut is unquestionably their best album-even better than the sophomore album some fans assert as being superior.
The discography of Weezer, an American rock band, consists of 13 studio albums, two compilation albums, one video album, six extended plays, 28 singles and 25 music videos. Weezer's self-titled debut studio album, often referred to as The Blue Album, was released in May 1994 through DGC Records.
Label: Dgc – DGC-25007, dgc – 425 007-1. Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Reissue. Country: UK & Europe. Poor quality pressing, everything sounds dull and flat, there's no dynamic in this. I love this album, but this particular pressing doesn't do it justice. Reply See 1 reply Notify me 1 Helpful.
Pinkerton is the second album by the American alternative rock band Weezer, released on September 24, 1996. Rivers Cuomo, the band's lead singer and guitarist, wrote all of its songs after a painful leg surgery; as a result, they were written in first-position on his guitar's fretboard so that he would not have to move too much to play them. Pinkerton is named after the character .

After abandoning plans for a rock opera titled Songs from the Black Hole, Weezer recorded the album between songwriter Rivers Cuomo's terms at Harvard University, where he wrote much of the album. It was the last Weezer album to feature bassist Matt Sharp.

This is real Weezer, not the bull Weezer that came with the new millenium. This and Blue are nearly tied for greatness, in my opinion. Bottom Line, If you like Blue, get Pinkerton. It's a shame this album was shunned by Rivers. I think that if it wasn't killed by critics, then Weezer would not have gone on to make songs like We Are All On Drugs.
