Wilco is a rock band which formed in 1994 in Chicago, Illinois, United States by the remaining members of alternative country group Uncle Tupelo following singer Jay Farrar's departure from that group. View full artist profile.
is the debut studio album by the American alternative rock band Wilco, released on March 28, 1995, by Sire Records and Reprise Records. The album was released only months after the breakup of Uncle Tupelo, an alternative country band that was the predecessor of Wilco. Prior to its release, there was debate about whether the album would be better than the debut album of Son Volt, the new band of former Uncle Tupelo lead singer Jay Farrar.
It's got a really infectious energy and the interplay between everyone in the band is so tasteful and shows a tremendous amount of restraint. Initially, I wanted to try and deconstruct the song and go in a different direction musically, but I just kept hearing really cool things that I wanted to learn and execute in the original version (not that my performances remotely touch the musical prowess of the mighty Wilco)
This song is by Wilco and appears on the album The Whole Love (2011). Was I wrong? Off all night long?Or so high, as the stinking sunI came alive, then I felt, oh uh-ohSome guys have everything, I knowIt's all rightI've done a lot of crawling around outsideAnd I heard it's all right A cow's neck, bad shave, in the low blow slo-mo.
Alt-country troubadours Wilco headlined their own Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, Mass. this past weekend, where they were selling the 7-inch vinyl version of a new single called "I Might. The single marks the first taste of the band's forthcoming album, revealed to be titled "The Whole Love," which is due out in September. The organ-accented stomper finds frontman Jeff Tweedy in familiar territory: melding fuzzy pop with Americana and packing punch into each lyric and melodic turn.
