Buster Jones and Paul Duskin played alongside these loops in September and Absalm el Habib gave voice during December 1979. The solo guitar part to "Signified" is manual repetition in comparison with technological repetition of the Frippertronics and is the complete second take.

Exposure is the debut solo album by guitarist and composer Robert Fripp. Unique among Fripp solo projects for its focus on the pop song format, it grew out of his previous collaborations with David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, and Daryl Hall, and the latter two singers appear on the album. Released in 1979, it peaked at No. 79 on the Billboard Album Chart. Most of the lyrics were provided by the poet and lyricist Joanna Walton, who was later killed on Pan Am Flight 103.

Robert Fripp’s musical skills and originality has made him one of the most sought after musicians in the business. His work alone as a founding member of King Crimson should grant him Rock and Roll Hall of Fame status. However, Robert Fripp never stopped working. Rock historians have written that Robert Fripp has performed on, or worked on, at least one thousand albums in his career. With some much music to look at, we decided to just present music from Robert Fripp’s solo albums. When compared to his output with King Crimson and other collaborations, Robert Fripp released just a small amount.
Robert Fripp’s soundscapes have always sounded as though they’d be remarkable in an orchestral setting and so with this album, originally released in 2012, it has proved to be. Yet that transition hasn’t been easy or obvious. Dating back to the summer of 2000 when Bert Lams’ (of the California Guitar Trio) handed over his painstaking transcriptions to Keeling, the Metropole Orchestra in Amsterdam performed these pieces in 2003. As a guitarist for the progressive rock band King Crimson, Fripp has been the only member to have played in all of King Crimson's line-ups from their inception in the late 1960s to the present. Though ultimately unsuccessful as a live act, the band gained some attention following the release of two singles as well as an album (The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp). Despite the recruitment of two further members – singer Judy Dyble (formerly with Fairport Convention and later of Trader Horne) and t Ian McDonald – Fripp felt that he was outgrowing the. eccentric pop approach favoured by Peter Giles (preferring the more ambitious compositions being written by McDonald) and the band broke up in 1968.
