Well you think your sitting pretty. You’re caught between the law and the big guns. Your back’s against the wall, you don’t like IT there at all. Now you’re to proud to fall you got no friends you can call.
The compilation Big Guns: The Very Best of Rory Gallagher is one of the ways assembling a retrospective should be done. This set offers a portrait of a true guitar hero and songwriter, one whose flash never outweighed his substance, one whose work is so utterly and dazzlingly fresh it not only stands the test of time, but transcends it. Being an Irish bluesman was tough for Gallagher, especially when he began his career in the 1960s. These two discs are the first retrospective to span the entire length of his career, from his time with the power trio Taste to his signature albums like Calling Card and Deuce, through to his final acoustic album, Wheels Within Wheels (released posthumously). There are many gems here beginning with "Born on the Wrong Side of Time" by Taste, and unreleased live versions of the traditional "Bullfrog Blues" and Junior Wells' "Messin with the Ki.

Rory Gallagher is the first solo album by Irish blues rock musician Rory Gallagher, released in 1971. It marked his departure from Taste. He decided on two Belfast musicians; drummer Wilgar Campbell, and bass guitarist Gerry McAvoy to be the core of his new power trio band.
Well, you think you're sitting pretty But you're sitting on a powder keg Well, you think you're standing steady But you're weak as a matchstick leg Well there's a rumble in the city There's a call out for your head Now isn't a pity You're future's just a lump of lead. But now you're running scared you've got no place to run You're caught between the law and the Big Guns
