This is great black Gospel Soul with Full-Band backing, including Electric Organ. The songs are both two great Civil Rights themed songs done in the wake of the Martin Luther King assassination. Proceeds from the sales of the record were to benefit Dr. King's Southern Christian Leadership Conference aka SCLC. In addition to this record, other labels & artists - including Solomon Burke - did similar releases to benefit SCLC. The Hudson Chorale are well-known for being a group that had their own full-band Soul instrumentation.

When this record was initially released, it was NOT distributed by Atlantic. Early pressings have no mention of Atlantic, but instead the AMANDA Records address listed, and also slightly different logos.
