The loneliness and weariness of struggle is everywhere in Westerman's voice; it stands in strident contrast to the militant country sound on the earlier album. It's not the sound of surrender, but the sound of long suffering. The Land Is Your Mother (La Tierra Es Tu Madre). Floyd Red Crow Westerman.

Floyd "Red Crow" Westerman, also known as Kanghi Duta (August 17, 1936 – December 13, 2007), was a Sioux musician, political activist, and actor. Westerman was born Floyd Westerman (Kanghi Duta) on the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation, home of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, a federally recognized tribe.
Westerman's 1982 album, The Land is Your Mother, reflected the convergence of the interests of indigenous peoples worldwide and the environmental movement. He toured with Sting's rainforest tour in the early 1990s, and became involved in Harry Belafonte's campaign against the spread of nuclear power. But his musical success led to the movies. He described the invasion of Iraq as "just another land grab, like they did with Oklahoma and the midwest in America. Back then it was about land and gold and now it was about oi. Westerman also broadcast adverts for Lakota, a topical pain reliever, often wearing Native American dress and he continued to perform, as Chief Eagle Horn in Buffalo Bill's show in Hidalgo (2004), and in the television film The Tillamook Treasure (2006).
Mother, do you think she's dangerous–to me? Mother, will she tear your little boy apart? Ooh-ah, mother, will she break my heart? Hush now, baby, baby, don't you cry Mamma's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you Mamma won't let anyone dirty get through Mamma's gonna wait up until you get in Mamma will always find out where you've been Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean Ooh, babe, ooh, babe, oh, babe You'll. This track is about the character Pink’s relationship with his mother: him looking to her for guidance and advice, her responding by helping him to build the metaphorical wall that will serve to both protect and isolate him from the world. Notice how it switches from mother to mamma and points in the song, not only referencing the song Hush, little baby, but signaling a change in perspective from Pink talking to his mother reassuring Pink.
