Del The Funky Homosapien - The 11th Hour album
Del explains music theory and reflects on his own career and concepts for his new album the 11th hour.
It was announced and partially recorded in 2004, but didn't come out until March 11, 2008, when it was released by Definitive Jux. The album is produced by Del himself with additional production from Opio, KU, and J-Zone. It debuted at number 122 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 5,810 copies in its first week.

Del was part of his cousin Ice Cube’s backing band Da Lench Mob and made his first solo album, I Wish My Brother George Was Here, with support from his cousin in 1991. Critics and fans had mixed opinions about the album, many feeling that Del’s and Cube’s styles weren't an ideal match.
While the album's packaging makes it seem like a rushed affair (with its home-printer-esque graphics and color scheme, it takes on the look of a bad reggae mixtape, and the image of Del wearing an Ableton lanyard doesn't help things at all) but it's clear that musically, Eleventh Hour has had a lot of time and thought put.
Like the recent release of Mike Ladd’s for European-ears-only Nostalgiator, 11th Hour is the perfect album for anyone who only knows Del’s voice through work with Handsome Boy Modeling School and the Gorillaz’s Clint Eastwood
But you know, it was nice getting to see Del be a person and not a famous rapper like people might expect. If you're looking for something to introduce friends into Del's music, I highly recommend any of his albums over this.
