Compared to what followed, the selections from his 1980 signature work Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) feel like the product of another era (not to mention another record company- it was his last album for RCA before jumping to Virgin). It's one of lates Bowie compilation, and as it stated on the cover, the songs came from his neo-period, it is from 1980 till 1987. This Bowie period is often criticized from very different points of attack. In one I am agree - there are not too many prog-songs, even for Bowie, who in genuine isn't prog singer/musician. But if you like Bowie, and if you are interested in that his period - it's golden album ! Yes, music there has strong pop-apeal, but from other hand, you can hear all Bowie genius in full there.
