Gang Colours’ 2012 debut ‘The Keychain Collection’ showed promise, with its ear for off-kilter textures and melancholic melodies, but there was something about it which felt lightweight and inconsequential – trendy muzak for poncy gastropubs. With his follow up LP ‘Invisible in Your City’, the Southampton-bred producer (aka Will Ozanne) takes his pop-inflected electronica from background music to bedtime music, producing an album so chilled-out that it’s as potent as a double dose of Nytol. Laying grainy, Boards of Canada-esque synths, near-inaudible, reverb-swamped vocals and plaintive piano.

Gang Colours will release a new album on September 16th. Will Ozanne first appeared on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood label in 2011, showcasing off a jazz-inflected sound. Invisible In Your City arrives a year on from his his debut album, The Keychain Collection. At just over a half an hour, the new LP is a brief affair, and is reportedly inspired by the vocal stylings of The Beach Boys and The Four Freshmen.

Gang Colours, aka Will Ozanne, will release his stunning second album ‘Invisible In Your City’ through Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings this September. Invisible In Your City’ finds the Botley resident blossoming as a singer-songwriter, completing his metamorphosis from bedroom production prodigy into a confidently creative and adept songwriter. Spanning ten tracks, ‘Invisible In Your City’ is as richly textured as its predecessor, but it’s a more self-assured record by an artist growing into his songwriting skin and rising in confidence all the time. The title track is a bold statement in itself, a pretty ballad founded upon Will’s multitracked vocals, disheveled by shards of white noise.
