The Bluesbreakers included John Mayall on harmonica, keyboards and a majority of the vocals, John McVie on bass, Hughie Flint on drums. In 2003, the album was ranked number 195 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton (. The Beano Album) is a 1966 blues/blues rock album recorded by John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton as part of the band. Clapton left to form Cream after this recording, though would team up again in 1971 for the double LP Back to the Roots.

John Mayall's Bluesbreakers is a British blues band, whose composition has been changed several times. The band was founded in 1963 in London by John Mayall, with the help of Alexis Korner. In the early 1960s, the blues under English pop musicians hugely popular. Many American soldiers who were stationed in England, had blues music with him, they were heard in various clubs.

Eric Clapton joins John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and then quits to form Cream - but first he records the Beano album - a classic. Mayall was already over thirty years old and having first learned to play the guitar he switched to the piano, inspired by hearing Meade Lux Lewis and Albert Ammons records. By the time he was 17 he was already playing the Blues in Manchester with a group. After enrolling at art school he then served in the British Army in Korea from 1951 to 1954. Back at art school Mayall formed the Powerhouse Four, continuing to play after he graduated.
