Complete your Fatboy Slim collection. The album version gives a nod of recognition to the old acid house days with the baubling sound of a 303 synthesiser from about 3:45 onwards (what would be considered a bridge in traditonal song structure), and from 3:20 onwards is some cool violin.

The radio edit doesn't do Fatboy's latest single justice at all. While it does jump straight into the catchy backing vocals (which sounds like an old soul song all twisted up - cool and catchy) it ends too soon and skips some cool elements that are in the album version. The album version gives a nod of recognition to the old acid house days with the baubling sound of a 303 synthesiser from about 3:45 onwards (what would be considered a bridge in traditonal song structure), and from 3:20 onwards is some cool violin. The intro sounds very Palookaville-like, kind of similar to "Don't Let The Man Get You Down". Redanka offer the better 'Right Here, Right Now' remix. Both of remixes turn Fatboy's classic tune into a housey sound, but Redanka pull it off better with a big-room sound that stays true to the original, yet clearly gives house DJs a whole new lease on the song. Vocals are chopped up and work well with the music. The Freemasons have gone for a funky house style that already sounds dated. Plus they have purposely tried to alter the vocals by having a single "right here, right now" but don't loop it. Is more infuriating than revolutionary. Mike D and Adrock's "Praise You" remix is odd. It's a highly filtered, yet quite minimal Big Beat track that will have some screaming "sacrilege!". Others will find it interesting. It definetly grows on you-recommended. The Plump DJ's take 'Everybody Needs A 303' to somewhere different. It starts off with a simple enough beat before they wreak total havoc on the lyrics "check this out" which thin kick into these infectious synth notes and finally a deep, glitching broken beat. Later they much with the 303 sound. Overall a cool breakbeat tune.
