I love black metal, but i have no idea how to write it. I really like the sad vibe it gives and when i try to write it i wont sound good. maybe it's because i secrely agree that tracedin inymballsackistheb best album ever. he's got the fire and the fury, at his command well you don't have to worry, if you hold onto jesus' hand. Emulation of various influences eventually leads to your own style. Hessian harem for the advancement of the hessian culture.
Polish death metal is usually quality, and Embrional is no exception. Another solid album from these guys! Hate – Auric Gates of Veles (Poland, 14 June). Hate is a workmanlike band churning out solid Polish death metal, while never reaching the heights of 2005’s Anaclasis. Solid stuff in a familiar style. Malevolent Creation – The 13th Beast (United States, 18 January). This album surprised me a lot. Strong black metal influences and focus on sonic impact over riff quality usually doesn’t excite me. Also, bassist Alex Webster is genuinely an amazing musician and his bass doesn’t have distortion nor is it mixed away into the background - Cannibal Corpse are, strangely enough, a great band to listen to if you’re a bassist.
Lyrical themes: Militant satanism, Antichrist supremacy, Nihilism, Anti-humanity. Current label: Season of Mist Underground Activists. Years active: 2000-present.
Although I've heard about the Norwegian metal scene since I was a kid in the early nineties, I never sought out any of the material. When I came across this comp I thought this would be a good place to start. Altough I figured I'd love anything called Death Metal, unfortunately this stuff is too proggy for me. If I wanted flutes, I'd have bought a Hawkwind album. One person found this helpful. Definately a good place to start for someone that isnt familiar with first wave Black Metal. A few of these tracks are from albums that are pretty hard to find, I have been trying to track down Tormentor's first album, so the inclusion of Elisabeth Bathory is welcome. Also Italy's Bulldozer doing Whisky Time is excellent!
