Tonight at Noon is, essentially, a compilation album - although not in the usual sense. There are two distinct sessions that make up its contents: a 1957 date with Jimmy Knepper on trombone, drummer Dannie Richmond, saxophonist Shafi Hadi, and pianist Wade Legge, and a 1960 session with Booker Ervin, Roland Kirk on saxes, Knepper, bassist Doug Watkins, Mingus on piano, and Richmond.
Tonight at Noon is an album by jazz bassist and composer Charles Mingus that was released on the Atlantic label in 1964. It compiles tracks recorded at two sessions – the 1957 sessions that produced The Clown and the 1961 sessions that produced the album Oh Yeah. These tracks have since been added to the CD re-releases of their respective albums as bonus tracks.
