Drake and Future’s highly anticipated collaborative project was released on September 20, 2015. It premiered on the 6th broadcast of OVO Sound on Beats 1 Radio. What a Time to Be Alive " Track Info. What a Time to Be Alive is a collaborative commercial mixtape by Canadian rapper Drake and American rapper Future. It was released on September 20, 2015, by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records, Republic Records, Epic Records, A1 Records and Freebandz. What a Time to Be Alive was supported by Drake and Future's previous collaboration on the single "Where Ya At". As friends, they originally planned to record a mixtape together earlier in the year; the project never fully materialized.

The tape debuted at on the Billboard 200; it was both Drake and Future’s second albums to debut at number one in 2015 (Drake with If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and Future with DS2). Cover art & track list here. What a Time to Be Alive Q&A. How many songs did Metro Boomin produce? Metro Boomin produced 7 of the 11 songs on What a Time to Be Alive, the only songs Metro did not produce were Plastic Bag, I’m the Plug, Change Locations, and 30 for 30 Freestyle. Primary Artists Drake & Future.

There's been a Drake feature on every Future album, but none of them are particularly riveting, and on What a Time it's clearer than ever that they have difficulty sharing the same space. Superstar team-ups almost always seem better in theory. Watch the Throne parallels were drawn, fake cover art circulated,.

Stream Drake & Future's Surprise Mixtape 'What a Time to Be Alive'. Drake debuted at No. 1 earlier in 2015 with If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. Future scored his first No. 1 nearly two months ago with DS2. The last hip-hop act to earn multiple No. 1s within a calendar year was Jay Z back in 2004. What a Tim. s Drake’s Fifth No. 1 Album: Drake has collected five straight No. 1s on the Billboard 200, all of which debuted at No. 1. It follows If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, Nothing Was the Same (in 2013), Take Care (2011) and Thank Me Later (2010). Future’s Second No. 1 in Less Than Two Months: Less than two months after Future earned his first No. 1, with DS2, he’s back on top with What a Time to Be Alive. Drake and Future lead a busy top 10 on the Billboard 200, where six more albums arrive in the region, including new efforts from Lana Del Rey, Mac Miller and David Gilmour

After plenty of rumors and speculation, Drake and Future finally release their joint project What A Time To Be Alive. The 11-track offering includes production from Metro Boomin, Southside, Boi-1da, Noah 40 Shebib, and more. What A Time To Be Alive follows a very successful Jungle Tour campaign, but the artist’s relationship hasn’t always been amicable.

Most Drake and Future releases can be pretty hit and miss (usually it's the latter) and Future has been, in my opinion, going with quantity over quality this year. If you wouldn't call yourself a Future fan this project is definitely not for you because it sounds like a Future album with songs featuring Drake and Drake doesn't really bring all that much to the table  . After listening to this album many times over and digesting it for a week, I've come up short in my attempt to find a concept. All 11 tracks seem to be redundant and poorly pieced together from a lyrical point of view. No meaning past the face value of the words, both Drake and Future have not strayed from their comfort zone.

And with that, rappers Drake and Future beamed a new, collaborative record onto the Web late Sunday. The resulting What a Time to Be Alive is a focused effort that cracks open the padlock and lets loose two of music’s most turbulent ids. It bangs like the hardest NBA-arena music-specifically the trap anthems blared during pregame drills, before the rich people file in-but also makes abrupt turns and the bold choice to not worry about thematic unity and yielding the floor. Let’s turn down the Future at this red light just to be safe. Drake writes blockbusters, he wound up alongside dark, Halloween-basement beats. Just listen to the harrowing boom of I’m the Plug.
