Eric Kloss recorded 11 albums as a leader for Prestige during 1965-70, starting when he was 16. A superior post-bop altoist, the blind Kloss showed that he was able to hold his own with musicians much better-known than himself, but unfortunately he sunk into obscurity after 1981. This single CD contains all of the music from two of Kloss' finest albums: Sky Shadows and In the Land of the Giants.

Eric Kloss is a world renowned alto and tenor saxophonist, a t, recording artist, composer, clinician, educator, and television personality. Blind from birth music became his vision. A true child prodigy he performed with his mentor Sonny Stitt at age 12. Backed by jazz guitarist Pat Martino, his recording career began at age 16 with the release of Introducing Eric Kloss. Blending hard bob, be-bop, pop, rock, funk, free jazz, classical and world music, he went on to release 22 critically acclaimed recordings on the Prestige and Muse labels.

On his third album, he was recording with musicians over twice his age: Jaki Byard, Richard Davis, and Alan Dawson. He continued recording and performing while a student at Duquesne University. A fan of Elvis Presley and the Ventures, he was attracted to the growth of jazz fusion in the 1960s and '70s, and eventually played with fusion musicians Chick Corea, Dave Holland, and Jack DeJohnette.
