Tonight we are listening to the new Chris Robinson Brotherhood album and trying West 6th Milk Stout for the first time.

Barefoot In The Head (Silver Arrow Records) marks a third collection of new material from the band in the past two years and freedom suits the Chris Robinson Brotherhood well! 'Barefoot In The Head' finds the band pushing boundaries and breaking new ground with more joy and wonder than ever before. The album opens with the Americana funk of "Behold The Seer," which sounds like something of a mission statement for the CRB as Robinson sings, "If you want to keep your engine humming, Keep your eyes wide ahead and don't look back

Barefoot In the Head. Stream & Purchase. Barefoot In the Head. They’ve just finished up another full-length, their fifth, titled Barefoot in the Head, due July 21st via Silver Arrow Records. Today, Rolling Stone is premiering the video for the album’s leadoff track, Behold the Seer, a jaunty funk & roll number accented by Casal’s quicksilver guitar licks and MacDougall’s burbling electric piano work. Robinson’s words, meanwhile, offer up something of a musical, if not a lifestyle, mantra: If you want to keep your engine humming, he intones, keep your eyes wide ahead and don’t look back.

TheChris Robinson Brotherhood began where The Black Crowe’s (temporarily) ended. While on hiatus in 2011, the band’s singer, Chris Robinson, decided to start a new project, and thus The Chris Robinson Brotherhood came to be. The American blues rock band just dropped their fifth studio album earlier today, Barefoot in the Head. Chock full of interesting themes, catchy melodies and witty lyrics, anything but a full-listen in one sitting would be a shame. The album opens up with tune called Behold the Seer. With notable classic rock influences that mesh perfectly bluesy vibe, it’s hard not.

The album kicks off with the sunny-day, funk jangle Behold The Seer. MacDougall and Casal’s swampy interplay is the song’s musical heart while Robinson provides its carefree spirit, singing, There’s still lessons in these blues, we’re still free to choose, so put on your dancing shoes over a chorus of la-la-a’s. After six years of rigorous touring and jamming CRB is as cohesive as it’s ever been and Barefoot In The Head bears that magical fruit of their labor. Hark The Emerald Hermit Speaks is a delicious slice of life with Robinson’s ess poetry floating on Casal’s golden licks, MacDougall’s shimmering piano and the gentle evergreen rhythm of Leone and Hill.

They’re at their best, though, when things are kept simple and sincere, as on the heartfelt country of High Is Not The Top, with its instantly affecting, ungilded assertion: ‘If you don’t know heartache then you don’t know love. Barefoot In The Head is a little ray of light beaming through these dark days. Classic Rock Newsletter.

Barefoot in the Head is your third record in two years. But, I mean, my entrée into music, my first big prostrate in front of the muse, was writing. But I don’t have any ill will and stuff. I’m too busy with the CRB. And it’s funny, because in the trajectory of this band, we didn’t have a big giant hit record our first time out. So we’ve had time to experiment.

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood have announced the release of their next studio album, Barefoot In The Head, due July 21 on Silver Arrow Records. The 10-track effort, self-produced by the band, marks a third collection of new material in only two years time. For the fourth year in a row, The CRB will play over 120 shows with summer tour dates already announced and fall tour dates to be released shortly. Chris Robinson Brotherhood. The album eventually achieved Gold status, selling over 500,000 copies. The cover featured a picture of a woman's crotch wearing a US-flag thong with visible pubic hair, which was taken from a 1976 issue of Hustler magazine. As some stores would not carry the album because of the cover, a different version was released simultaneously with a solid black background, showing only the triangle. The album featured performances of old and new Black Crowes material mixed with covers, taken from a three-night run at The Roxy in Los Angeles in early 2006. The Black Crowes' first album since reforming, Warpaint, was released on March 3, 2008. In 2017, the CRB released "Barefoot In The Head. The CRB has also released 4 Live Albums, "Betty's Blends Volumes 1, 2, 3", and "Betty's Midwestern Magic Blends.
