On the Threshold of a Dream is the fourth album by the Moody Blues, released in April 1969 on the Deram label. The album begins with a poem accompanied by electronic sounds, and these sounds also appear at the close of the album – most vinyl pressings of the album continue the sounds into the album's run-out groove, causing them to play continuously until the record player's tonearm is lifted. Tape and CD album versions employ a slow fade.
So this album is oozing with bright, splashy creative flourishes in two seemingly contradictory directions that somehow come together as a valid whole.
This is a later pressing without the "indicator hole" on the back of the sleeve, and only the stereo cat number printed. Until the early 70's Deram printed STEREO with white letters in a black box, indicating this release is from start 70's or later. Similar to this verion On The Threshold Of A Dream, but has no "Insert Included" above the black box and the label matrix has brackets and a full stop.

After reaching the pinnacle of Proto-Prog Rock with their previous two records, The Moody Blues and Tony Clarke sat themselves down again to go full dive into Progressive Rock. On the Threshold of a Dream is exactly as it implies; an exploration into the edge of the human concept of "Dreams"
