Creedence Clearwater Revival is the debut studio album by American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, released in 1968. While "Suzie Q" proved to be a hit, the band had played for years as the Golliwogs in the early 1960s, releasing numerous singles before achieving success in the pop world. CCR Live At Woodstock 1969. Creedence Clearwater Revival – Bad Moon Rising. An apparently sleepy performance by the Grateful Dead and a firm veto by singer John Fogerty resulted in an undocumented performance at Woodstock by legendary rock outfit Creedence Clearwater Revival. The California based rock outfit was formed in 1965, and after a few shuffles within the band, the lineup consisted of lead guitarist and lyricist John Fogerty, rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, bassist Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. From the years of 1969 to 1970, CCR ruled the rock charts with their swamp rock style. Their second album Bayou Country reached on the Billboard charts. From that album, the single Proud Mary reached on the Billboard chart and would later be their most covered song.

Creedence Clearwater Revival's catchy music was one of the true hightlights of the whole festival. Though they started late in the night from Saturday to Sunday (around 1. 0) their blend of R&B, Folk- and Country-Rock didn't fail to impress. However, John Fogerty complained that the long set of The Grateful Dead delayed their set so most of the audience went to bed when CCR performed in the middle of the night. The setlist consists of material from their first three albums (the fourth album Willy and the Poor Boys was released in November 1969). There were no surprises, as CCR chose only the highlights. The performances are tight and upright.

Creedence Clearwater Revival's entire performance at Woodstock will finally be released, 50 years after the band played at the legendary music festival. Live at Woodstock is due on Aug. 2 and includes all 11 songs from CCR's set on Aug. 16, 1969. You can see the album's track listing and listen to the set's opening cut, "Born on the Bayou," below. Creedence were scheduled to perform on Saturday night of the festival, following the Grateful Dead's set. But Woodstock almost immediately lost any hope of following a schedule, so they were pushed back. The Dead's show sent CCR's appearance back even further, and they didn't end up onstage until after midnight. They refused to allow their set to appear in the hit 1970 movie or the No. 1 soundtrack.
