Edwards' most realized album to date, Hangin' At The Beach, is a 30-track blend of disparate sounds, including junk-shop electro, neo-noir soundtrack music and even winsome synth pop. But more than anything else, the record feels like an audio diary about growing up in California. I recently asked Delroy Edwards, AKA Brandon Perlman, what . Club Resource, with its vinyl and cassette rap reissues, has to do with club music in the traditional sense . Delroy Edwards - 4 Club Use Only.

Absolutely quintessential L.I.E.S release. Each track builds on the next beautifully; tracks A and B1 are among my personal favorite tracks in the label's whole catalog.

ya i mean this is it, this is the heat from delroy. A side ends and ur feeling good B side starts and u ascend. bells is mad. pressing sounds good in reference to the recent remastered repress. up to $30 MAX is acceptable, i would recommend getting it sooner rather than later..... u never know..
*Nameless*
4 Club use only is the anthem here, really good release. cop it
Kieel
RSD repress sounds great, cant agree with that "bass too loud" comment. I think it sounds how its suppossed to be but gotta admit, I dont have a copy of the first run.
I love Mercedes
So many comments on this release, almost all of them about the quality and so few talk about the music? I sleeped on this at first when it came out, and when I stumbled on this finally, it didn't move me at all at first. I have records like Virgo 'Release Yourself' and the classic stuff of Mr. Fingers, also a lot of Dance Mania and the rough basement sound of Chicago. So it didn't really impress me much on the first listen. But then it grew on me with every listen. Maybe I forced myself to like this release. It's super simple in it's sound, but then again it's also a very honest no bullshit or filler type of record. For die hard underground people, like the title says '4 Club Use Only'. But not in those fancy glimmering glamour clubs with bottle service where everyone is wearing fashion clothes and Gucci handbags. Rough dark clubs which resemble abandoned warehouses, basements and nobody asks for a dress code.

Well said!
Ballagar
Is the repress identical to the original? Physically and in terms of content? Thanks
Usaxma
The original had something wrong with the mastering.
Leyl
Got ya !
Saithi
Can't say I'm a fan of the remaster, bass is absurdly loud, you gotta mix these tunes with the bass knob turned down about a third haha
Mananara
Phigure Can't say I'm a fan of the remaster, bass is absurdly loud, you gotta mix these tunes with the bass knob turned down about a third haha how much has the remaster changed the recording, aside from the bass? I assume you have the 2012 pressing to compare this with?
Yanthyr
So glad this has been re-pressed. Don't have a copy of the original but the re-mastered vinyl sounds MILES better than the 320 from Beatport!
Bloodhammer
What's "Beatport"?
Weiehan
Just copped it today on RSD!
Ielonere
Has there ever been a more eagerly anticipated repress??!!
Dranar

yeah, do you know more? it is relevant for my interests. (edit for notifier)
BeatHoWin
1000+ wants already? Jesus. Been many copies of this available on a regular basis since it came out yet there'll still be bandwagon jumpers complaining about prices. Face it. If you didn't buy this record by now, you don't deserve to own it.
Frey
Wankers tend to make wanky comments. I was obviously talking about the kind of people who in 6 months+ time will be moaning about having to pay 30+ for a record that was widely available, known to pretty much anyone with an interest in house/techno and will no doubt be repressed again anyway if you wait long enough. You're coming across like you somehow missed the boat. Of course I'm finding records I missed out on all the time and they're usually the ones with 300 copies max. But you won't find me complaining about having to pay stupid money for a relatively new record that I didn't want until everyone else deemed it a cool record.
Mysterious Wrench
Jesus. What a thoroughly wanky comment. Have you never come across a record after it's been released? People don't deserve to own it? What a bellend
Katius
"Original"? I can't say. "Overhyped"? Fuck no. Spend less time reading music blogs or just ignore everything most people shovel into your ears and then "hype" no longer exists. Use your internal compass. Upon review I see my compass said "favorite record of 2012" and I stand by that. I'm still playing this out just as much as I had last year. Respect to L.I.E.S. for releasing one of the most desirable house records on Discogs, especially impressive given the fact that they pressed far more of these than usual quantities common to new releases these days (typically only 300 - 500).Tons of copies pressed. Tons of people still want it. When you can flood a market with a record and it's still this hot, you win. And this sort of creative + financial success gives me a little more hope for the future of vinyl.4 Club Use Only is a success on all levels.
Maximilianishe
Good record but nothing original.
Vobei
lol lol
Ximathewi
I thought this record was all about A and B1 until i heard Tama Sumo bang "Love Goes On And On" out at PBar. What a tune. Killer must have twelve.
Ghordana
my bad
Vital Beast
its been out of stock on that website for ages.
Gajurus
Unreal ep, Love Goes On and On is one of my favourite all time tunes. Pity my copy sounds like shit. What is up with american labels and their records sounding pish? Give me an EU pressing over this anyday. Loads of pops and crackles off brand new L.I.E.S, Truncate releases etc, so frustrating. Yet when I buy a new record in the UK it sounds perfect, sort it out please.
Qutalan
Proof? Just says distributed
Humin
It was pressed by RushHour
Deeroman
Maybe Larry Sherman got back in the game?
Dianazius
My repress is really quiet, and I have to turn the gain up a lot. All three tracks are amazing. Hard to pick a favorite, but I play Bells the most.
Dishadel
I think the number of owners and the represses that I've noticed popping up on stores is testament to just how good this release is. 'Bells' just swings so hard.
Naktilar
this is no bullshit; this record cuts right through to the core. When I heard this I could not believe this being released in 2012.
Pooker
Just seen this up for preorder on redeye... repress or just leftover stock?
Gholbimand
Confirmed https://twitter.com/LIES_News/status/290510596644929536
Rindyt
just placed an order, let's see what happens.. havent heard a single word about a repress or anything though.
Gianni_Giant
One of the best releases in 2012. Delroy Edwards is just... Brilliant.
you secret
Couldn't agree more!
Yozshubei
Magical record. The title track has the sort of hypnotic depth that I adore.I'll sleep easier tonight knowing that I own a copy of this.--------------------------4 Club Use Only is my favorite record of 2012.
Kabandis
buy from redeye record their shipping is cheaper than most american stores lol
Landarn
You can buy all the LIES stuff direct from All Day records.
Zymbl
For tracks like these, I wake up in the morning... No seriously, this may be the best release i've heard in 2012. I'm constantly searching on discogs to find similar tracks on old dusty vinyl, but then anno 2012, in which I thought the flat overcompressed tech house had finally completely taken over, Delroy Edwards decides to release a beast like this. Especially the B2 has this utterly uncompromising dark dance vibe. I'm going to play this and I know people will dance! Delroy, I want more!
Teonyo
Great to hear this! Still playing it ;-)
Cordabor
Thanks for your review, made me buy this record. And yeah, it's a fucking monster release! Cheers!
Eyalanev
BELLS IS LIFE ALTERING!
Questanthr
Yeah - I'm feeling bells - this is my favourite LIES release for a while.
Xarcondre
this might sound weird, but is anyone else's copy have track B1 'Bells' end abruptly into track B2 'Love Goes On And On'?? it's like someone just stopped the recording half way! im mystified.
