Great sax heavy track from Little Richard's 1972 album The Second Coming on the Reprise label

Little Richard was the ultimate embodiment of rock 'n' roll, dangerous and a tad exotic and utterly without constraint

The Second Coming was Little Richard's third album for Reprise Records, and saw him reunited with Robert "Bumps" Blackwell from his Specialty days, with them co-writing the majority of the album together. The concept was to unite the best rock studio musicians of the '50s with the best rock studio musicians of the '70s. Many fans were disappointed in the material and in the over-syncopated, over-produced tracks. The album again failed to chart.

In the 1970s, Little Richard could still bring a house down on-stage; his riveting performances were a staple on the Richard Nader touring packages. Reprise Records should be commended for allowing Richard Penniman the opportunity to express his artistry through new music crafted with some old friends, including decent liner notes about what is truly an historic recording session. On The Second Coming, the man who "supervised all of the original legendary Little Richard hits, . Bumps' Blackwell, reunites many of the musicians used on the first recordings

Many fans were disappointed in the material and in the over- syncopated, over-produced tracks. Little Richard's profile was high during this period, with works including a track, "Miss Ann", on the album To Bonnie from Delaney, a still unreleased track with Joey Covington of The Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, "Bludgeon Of A Bluecoat (The Man)", a duet with Mylon LeFevre on his 1972 release, "He's Not Just A Soldier", a cover of his 1961. Mercury track, and two tracks on the soundtrack to $.

Little Richard's "Tutti Frutti" (1955) was included in the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2010, which stated that his "unique vocalizing over the irresistible beat announced a new era in music. In 2015, the National Museum of African American History and Culture honored Little Richard for his pivotal role in the formation of popular music genres and in helping to shatter the color line on the music charts, changing American culture significantly. Second Coming is the 1989 comeback album by Los Angeles punk band The Dickies, and the band's fourth studio album. By 1989, the Dickies' brand of tongue-in-cheek, poppy punk was largely out of fashion, but the later success of bands like Green Day and the Queers make it clear what an influence these .

Rude
This album is still good but not much powerful as 60s Richard..But still good for Little Richard's fans
Ballardana
Production wise, improvement over bubblegum sound on previous reprise album , but throw away material indifferently performed by the star is a bummer . Let's be blunt: his voice is shot. He can get through some bizarro narrative pieces but there's just a handful of tracks you'll return to. Finale instrumental is a sensation , the best thing here: "satisfied sanctified toe tapper".
