BIO John Kameel Farah is a Canadian composer-pianist based in Berlin, Germany. He studied piano and composition at the University of Toronto, where he was a two-time recipient of the Glenn Gould Composition Award, later having private lessons with minimalist composer Terry Riley in California. In 1998 he gave a recital of the solo piano works of Arnold Schönberg in Toronto, and in 2016 performed the first book of Bach’s Das Wohltemperierte Klavier in Berlin.

Also, I’ll be presenting an arrangement of my piece Between Carthage and Rome from my album of the same name. I am especially looking forward to this, because as I composed the original, I was imagining an orchestra playing it, and now I get to hear this sound in real life. I am always asking myself, where and what is my home?
