Body Love Vol. 2 is the ninth album by Klaus Schulze. It was originally released in 1977, and in 2007 was the twenty-eighth Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. The album contains additions to the original soundtrack for the porn movie of the same name by Lasse Braun. The booklet for the reissue maintains the correct title of this album is Body Love 2. Recorded in 1976 and released the next year, Body Love, Vol. 2 was intended as a soundtrack for a pornographic film. Nothing wrong with this in and of itself, but it is hard to imagine that Schulze's trance-inducing electronic improvisations would be considered an appropriate soundtrack for sex. "Nowhere - Now Here" has a basic beat and spacy synths, but after 18 minutes, when the harpsichord solo starts, the simple prog rock absurdity of it shows that Schulze isn't taking his assignment too seriously.

Only for completionists (5%). What can I say about this album that has not ever been communicated on any Tangerine Dream offering already. Oviously highly similar and also very pleasant on the ear. I guess KS steers away from the more obscure sounds on Body Love. The leftovers from the Body Love soundtrack compiled together in this album which is slightly more compelling than its predecessor. As always, Schulze displays his mastery of electronic grandiosity and epic soundscapes.

Back in the 1970s I was surrounded by other electronic music fanatics and this album was one of our monuments. You definitely need good stereo equipment sensitive to high tones to be able to appreciate this music. You also need peace and quiet around you and a project to fulfill your mind with. Body Love is made out of 3 parts and I really can't decide which one I like the most. It is an extremely even album. Please keep in mind, we are not talking about electronica when we talk about that early electronic music. You may absolutely love it or you may decide I am crazy to listen to such music. Oh, by the way, and I am sorry I am bringing it up so late in the process, Body Love was a soundtrack to a porn flick.
