Tattoo You is the 16th British and 18th American studio album by the Rolling Stones, released in 1981. The follow-up to Emotional Rescue (1980), the album is mostly composed of studio outtakes recorded during the 1970s, and contains one of the band's most well-known songs, "Start Me Up", which hit number two on the United States's Billboard singles charts.

Start it up Start me up Ah, give it all You've got to, you've got to never, never, never stop Slide it up (Woo), oh baby, just slide it up Slide it up, slide it up, never, never, never. You make a grown man cry You make a grown man cry You make a grown man cry Ride like the wind at double speed I'll take you places that you've never, never seen'. If you start it up Love the day and we will never stop, never stop Never, never, never stop Start me up Never stop, never stop. A few overdubs later, there was an unexpected Rolling Stones classic, as Start Me Up shot up to in North America and in the UK and became a mainstay of the band’s concerts. It even was used by Microsoft to promote Windows 95. The lyrics are Mick Jagger claiming he feels soaring like a car or a plane, probably in bed (though why the partner makes a grown man cry is a good question!).

The Rolling Stones is the debut album by the Rolling Stones, released by Decca Records in the UK on 16 April 1964. The album is included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

Start Me Up' is a song by The Rolling Stones featured on the 1981. album "Tattoo You" and is often used to open the Stones' concerts. The song opens with what has since become a trademark riff for Keith Richards. It is this, coupled with Charlie Watts' steady backbeat and Bill Wyman's echoing bass, that comprises most of the song. If you start me up If you start me up I'll never stop. If you start me up If you start me up I'll never stop I've been running hot You got me tickin. ead the full lyrics for Start Me Up. In 1981, 'Start Me Up' became one of the Rolling Stones' biggest hit singles After starting his career at Olympic Studios in Barnes, South London, during the late '60s, Chris Kimsey engineered albums by Bad Company, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Mott The Hoople, Spooky Tooth, Ten Years After, Peter Frampton and the Rolling Stones, before assuming a production and/or engineering role with the Stones, Jimmy Cliff, Pete Tosh, the Cult, Joan Jett,. Released in August 1981, Tattoo You is widely regarded as the Rolling Stones' last great album; an ingenious division of rock tracks on one side and ballads on the other captures "the world's greatest rock & roll band" close to their best.

Don't make a grown man cry My eyes dilate, my lips go green My hands are greasy She's a mean, mean machine Start it up If start me up Give it all you got You got to never, never, never stop Never, never Slide it up You make a grown man cry Ride like the wind at double speed I'll. take you places that you've never, never seen Start it up Love the day when we will never stop, never stop Never stop, never stop Tough me up Never stop, never stop, never stop You, you, you make a grown man cry You, you make a dead man cum You, you make a dead man cum.
