Its been a while since our last Discotech podcast. We're back with a mix very kindly donated to us by the one and only Hector Moralez. Hectors ambitions began at an early age of 17, where he would spend hours practicing on his decks with the vinyl he had just worked hard for at the infamous Primal Records. His sounds take influence from Latin, jazz, funk, hip hop and soul and are of course sewn together with his apparent grooving bass lines and solid fat beats. Hector’s character, hard work and innovative ability has given him a prominent standing in the house music scene, leading him to become one of the most sought after artists. 2013 saw the release of his highly anticipated debut album with Chris Carrier, on the acclaimed French imprint Apollonia. The LP spawned a new (live) show, a first for Hector. Pushing boundaries and creating a new sound, is taking his career to the next level.

Introducing: Nomad Discotech. Based in Worcestershire, just south of Birmingham UK, The 23 year old producer was introduced to music production at 16 while attending college and since then has been carefully honing the craft both in and outside of education, completing a few tracks along the way too. It was one of these tracks (Lagos) that wound up on Benji B’s BBC 1xtra show at the end of 2009 and caught the ear and attention of Sydney based Huw Ellis aka Knowfool. Debuting in 2010 is Nomad Discotech’s first digital release, featuring Lagos – A Fela heavy and inspired house track that incorporates contemporary grooves with a deeper reflective vibe of an African icon – with support from BBC 1xtra’s Benji B and BBC Radio 1’s Gilles Peterson. The Nomad Soul (known as Omikron: The Nomad Soul in North America) is an adventure game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Eidos Interactive. It was released for Microsoft Windows in 1999 and Dreamcast in 2000. The player can engage in unarmed and armed combat, explore the three-dimensional environment of Omikron City, and talk with non-player characters to progress the story.

Now, this is one fast food restaurant that makes no bones whatsoever about targeting the premium end of the market. From its location to its eye-watering menu prices, this is not a budget eat by any means. Even the potatoes are imported. What you do get though, is an experience that is unmatched in Lagos. The food is genuinely outstanding, and quality is never compromised. Tantalizers is one of the best fast food restaurants in Lagos to eat at mostly by virtue of its excellent location at the corner of Allen Avenue roundabout. It also has a large exclusive parking lot and a very private eating area. It is set-back about 20 meters from the busy road. Another interesting fact is that this was the very first Tantalizers restaurant to open in Lagos. The food is moderately priced, and the continental offerings, in particular, are worth a punt.
