The 2012 Live Arts Festival would like to welcome Back to Back Theatre to the Festival this year with FOOD COURT.

The scripted performance is underscored by a single musical track played live from the orchestra pit by The Necks, one of the great cult bands of Australia.

Sex is the debut album of improvised music trio, The Necks, originally released on the Spiral Scratch label and later rereleased on Fish of Milk and Private Music in the US. The album features a single track of just under an hour in length performed by Chris Abrahams, Lloyd Swanton and Tony Buck improvising over a two-bar motif. On this album the band overdubbed the instrumentation of piano, bass and drums in a dual take creating a "hypnotic repetitive piece".

Back to Back Theatre is a professional Australian theater company. Over recent years, the company has become one of the most talked-about contemporary performance ensembles, and their work continues to tour international festivals. In Food Court, the company collaborates with The Necks, an experimental jazz trio, to create a score that accompanies the cruel bullying of a young woman, first in a suburban mall, and then in the horror land of a dark forest.
