ETERNALLY EVEN OUT NOVEMBER 4 Tour and album on sale this Friday, September 23rd. Video features: Twin Limb, Floating Action, and Dave Givan

Jim James’ new solo album contains some of his most psychedelic music, as well as his most directly topical lyrics, offering new ways for him to wield his otherworldly voice. Featured Tracks: Play Track. Here in Spirit - Jim James Via SoundCloud. The idea of a Jim James solo career was slightly perplexing at first. 1, which in turn pairs with its Pt. 2 to create the monumental core of the record. Eternally Even has also been touted as his most directly political writing of his career-pointedly released just before Election Day. This is another thing that, at first glance, could go almost awry-a topical Jim James record almost sounds like an oxymoron. James is not a literal writer, or at least not at his best when he’s being literal. His lyrics don’t work that way; his voice very much does not work that way.

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James planned his sophomore LP, Eternally Even, to drop November 4th, just four days before we make the crucial decision about who is the next leader of our country. And yet, as the album shows, James doesn't have a whole lot of faith in our ability to fight for change, one way or the other. I still have hope in humanity", James clarifies, and listening to his new record, it's evident

Jim James participated with Katy Perry, Sting, Jerry Seinfeld, Angelique Kidjo, and classical guitarist Sharon Isbin James plays himself and sings in episodes 4 and 10 of the Showtime series Roadies. On April 17, 2018, James announced the June 29 release of his third solo album of original material, Uniform Distortion.

Produced by Blake Mills & Jim James. Album Eternally Even. Eternally Even Lyrics. Sun's out Not a thought about the rain No trace of tears or pain I hope you're having A wonderful life. Reaching out I've thought about you often My feelings toward you softened over time I hope you're having A wonderful life. Truth be told There's gold in growing older We open like the roses to the sun Or the hand of a child Reaching up to mother over time

Jim James is primarily, and justifiably, thought of as the frontman of My Morning Jacket. It’s only fitting, considering he founded the band in 1998 and has been spearheading the popular rock band for seven albums. However, during a brief fallow period for the band, James put out his first solo album, Regions of Light and Sound of God. Evidently, James got a bit of a taste for it, because he’s back with his second solo venture, Eternally Even This is not inherently a bad thing, although Eternally Even could use a bit more energy or bite to it. While the album is only nine songs in total, James doesn’t give any of them short shrift. Each song is taken to its logical endpoint, and then probably a few seconds beyond that. Long songs aren’t bad, if they have a reason to be long. Eternally Even does not necessarily justify the meandering of most of its tracks. That is not to say there isn’t quality on the album.

Blackworm
Excellent pressing. Sound quality is superb. Very happy with this under-rated album.
Cordanius
anyone selling this!? I scratched the f outta mine and looking to replace
Zulurr
The sound quality is fantastic. Some of the best drums I've heard on a record too. The cymbals sound so clear.
VariesWent
This sounds sooo good. Full sounding, warm and rich with minimal surface noise.
Sharpmane
Most importantly, is there less heat/distortion compared to the digital version.
Mettiarrb
Can someone with this LP add matrix info? I'm curious where this was pressed/who cut the lacquers.
Orevise
Yes - at the time of my comment I think the black US version wasn't submitted, so I was not aware of a black US pressing - thought it was only the golden one for US.
Wizer
thats the black vinyl euro version you're speaking about. the black vinyl US version Jim James - Eternally Even was pressed at Capitol Mastering by Ian Sefchick
Kuve
At least the black pressing was pressed by GZ Media. (I don't have the golden one, might be a different plant). https://www.discogs.com/release/9535701

Side A: B002577401-ASide B: B002577401-BAlso in dead wax: "mastered by Capitol" and the initials GI There's also some weird symbol with squiggly lines etched in that I can't make out.
TheMoonix
How does this sound? Was there any swag indicating that the vinyl was gold?
Utchanat
To me as well. A translucent orange with a faint gold hue at most.
BlackBerry
Nope. But like someone said, last track on side one has some deliberate noise added (I guess). Somehow, either way, the whole damn thing just sounds right. What a cool-ass record. Seventies funk with political lyrics-- like Marvin Gaye's early seventies period. I always dread this particular color vinyl-- thought I was buying black as there was no sticker saying it was colored vinyl. Should have checked here first. No regrets on this one. Is it perfect? No, but the good outweighs the bad, vinyl-wise.
Nuadador
No factory swag. Also, SUPER clean. Sounds quite fine to me.
Dddasuk
Not much static on mine. Clean pressing. Maybe I had really high expectations but I thought this would sound a lot better because of the low end. I find the highs a bit fatiguing; I can't quite describe it. Could be something in my system, I'll have to play with controls.
Ydely
Did u have static running into the first track on side A & B?
Rigiot
Mine came with a "colored vinyl" sticker on the shrink but I think that was put on by the record shop. As far as the sound, it's great. If you've heard the digital version, the vinyl sounds a lot fuller and with a warmer overall tone. Also my copy has unintentional surface noise that runs into the first tracks on side A and B. There is surface noise that was intended in the recording especially on the song "the worlds smiling now" so don't be worried when you hear that. But I don't think it should be on the first tracks so I'm still going to try to get a better copy and see if I have that same issue with the static on the first tracks of side A & B. Overall though I love the music on this record and minus those surface noise issues this record sounds awesome. Drums n bass recorded very well.
Getaianne
Uploaded photos of the record itself, it looks more translucent orange than gold to me
