Really good album with some interesting covers. The stand out track is James Blunt's cover of Elton John's "I guess that's why they call it the blues" - stripped right back to its bare core. Worth getting the album for this track alone. Other stand out tracks include Passenger's Damien Rice-style take on Dire Straits "Romeo & Juliet", Katie Melua's unsurprisingly sultry take on Black's "Wonderful Life" and a very laid back Will Young's cover of "Teardrops" (Womack & Womack) . I wanted to show 'I Think We're Alone Now' in that kind of a version, one that shows the layers of my new music. Says Tiffany of the venerable hit, which also recently received a revival thanks to its synch in Netflix's Umbrella Academy, "It's just a great song. I'm really lucky to have it in my life. The singer-songwriter, on the road this spring and summer on New Kids on the Block's The Mixtape Tour, famously broke through in part by playing malls, as shown in the original 1987 "I Think We're Alone Now" video. We went to the recording place, although I don't know anybody there anymore, and it's not a recording studio anymor. Meanwhile, the song's sing-along opening lyric is central to the new video. It incorporates fun and family.
